October 18/Moscow/RIA Novosti -- Soft drink and snacks maker PepsiCo plans to invest $140 million in the construction of a soft drink plant in the city of Azov in southern Russia, PepsiCo communications director Alexander Kostikov said.

The plant's construction is scheduled for 2012-2013, Kostikov told RIA Novosti without specifying the plant's capacity.

PepsiCo has already signed an investment memorandum with the local authorities.
