Honeydrop Beverages launched a new line of cold-pressed juices made with medicinal honey, in conjunction with the Natural Product Expo East trade show in Baltimore. The companies “lemon cayenne cleanse” is made with a tablespoon of raw local honey sourced from local beekeepers from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut while its Apple, Ginger booster is packed with raw Manuka Honey.

“As someone who has suffered from allergies my entire life, it was only natural to come up with a convenient form to take a tablespoon of raw local honey everyday”, says founder David Luks.

“Raw local honey contains pollens from local flowers that may alleviate allergy symptoms. Additionally, because these juices are never heated, the raw organic lemons will help alkalize your body while the cayenne pepper can increase your metabolism, helping to cleanse your body of any toxins,” says Luks.

The company’s other cold-pressed product is made with organic raw apples, ginger, lemons and fortified with Manuka Honey. Manuka Honey hails from New Zealand and is often referred to as nature's antibiotic as it is packed with methylglyoxal, a powerful compound that can fight infections. The company sources Manuka Honey with a 12+ Unique Manuka Factor (UMF). The UMF measure is the standard way of describing the bacteria-killing power of the honey. This standard ranges from 0 – 25. A UMF of 12 has the same bacteria-killing power as 12% phenol.

“I have seen Manuka Honey used in cosmetics, moisturizers and even as a hospital-grade medicine to heal wounds. I have always been fascinated by its functional benefits,” says Luks.

“Our apple booster is made with cold-pressed organic apples and ginger and fortified with a tablespoon of 12+ Manuka Honey.”

Each 10oz bottle contains a tablespoon of local raw honey or Manuka honey, is gluten free, GMO free, and contains active enzymes, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

Honeydrop also donates 1% of proceeds to local beekeepers that are active in their communities, to build and maintain beehives to fight against Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD), an epidemic threatening the global bee population.

Honeydrop’s line of cold-pressed juices can currently be found in every Whole Foods, Fairway and other natural and gourmet stores in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut.
