Bay State Milling Company has expanded its BeneGrain® line of sprouted ingredients to include ancient grains and seeds. BeneGrain® offerings now include sprouted amaranth, millet, quinoa, chia and brown flax in addition to sprouted wheat and brown rice.

BeneGrain® sprouted ancient grains and seeds are available in both whole and milled forms, conventional and organic certified. BeneGrain® sprouted wheat flour is milled from hard red spring wheat and is available in whole wheat flour and steel cut varieties, conventional and organic certified. Cuts and cracks are offered for inclusions and customized blends.

Optimized for performance and taste, sprouted grains and seeds fit directly into Bay State’s focus on providing more healthful food choices for consumers. By carefully controlling the germination process, Bay State Milling provides bakers and manufacturers with ingredients that naturally improve nutrition and performance. Meanwhile, these contribute a slightly sweeter taste compared to conventional whole grains and seeds.

BeneGrain® sprouted ancient grains and seeds are developed for use in a range of applications, including gluten free. They are carefully germinated to activate enzymes that result in the increased availability and digestibility of key nutrients.

“The addition of ancient grain and seed offerings is a natural extension of the BeneGrain® line. We are confident that we have developed a selection of sprouted whole grains and flours that deliver convenience, consistency and increased flavor balance to the marketplace. These ingredients have been proven in a variety of applications, and by incorporating BeneGrain®, our customers can deliver grain-based foods with improved taste and digestibility while enhancing functionality,” comments Colleen Zammer, Director of Product Marketing.
