Shamrock Foods recognized its supplier partners' excellence with the 2016 Supplier of the Year Awards, presented during the company's annual Supplier Summit. The group also presented was a check for $50,000 to benefit the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society.

"We at Shamrock Foods recognize that strong partnerships are the foundation of our success, and we pride ourselves on collaborating with our suppliers to provide the right products at the right price and with the right support to delight our foodservice customers," said Jody Wilmes, Vice President, Category Management and Purchasing for Shamrock Foods.

The supplier awards are based on criteria including growth, profitability, service level, marketing support and compliance to industry standards such as GS1 – a data and communication tool used for supply chain efficiency.

In all, 15 supplier partners were recognized in six categories including Center of Plate, Frozen Grocery, Dairy/Cheese, Dry Grocery, Non Foods/Beverage and the overarching Supplier of the Year category. The big winner was Alpha Baking Company, earning the honor of Supplier of the Year for the second year in a row.
