October 2/St. Louis/PRNewswire -- Solae announced Dr. Priscilla Samuel has joined the company as director of nutrition sciences.

"Dr. Samuel brings more than 10 years of experience in the food nutrition research sector, and Solae is excited to have her as part of our team," said Dr. Jon McIntyre, vice president or research and development. "She has a great mix of experience in nutrition research, project management, product development and scientific affairs that will drive Solae's technical strategy."

Samuel was the senior principal nutrition scientist in Global Regulatory, Nutrition Science & Policy at Mead Johnson Nutritionals/Bristol-Myers Squibb for the past three years. She has also worked for PepsiCo International, Quaker Foods & Tropicana Beverages; the Quaker Oats Company; and the Kellogg Company.

Samuel earned her doctorate degree in Human Nutrition, with a double minor in Business/Marketing and Public Health, from the University of Tennessee in 1996. She has a Master of Science degree in Human Nutrition from the University of North Carolina and a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Nutrition & Dietetics and Child Development from Banglore University in Bangalore, India.
