"We are considering developing domestically by acquiring a smaller domestic producer, which would help us improve our nationwide distribution. We are currently examining two Romanian producers," said Dimitris Zogopoulos, marketing manager of Nestle Ice Cream Romania.

He added that small ice cream producers on the local market could disappear if they do not invest in their businesses, amid increased competition.

Nestlé is a multinational packaged food company founded and headquartered in Switzerland. It was set up in 1866 by Henri Nestlé to provide an infant food product.
