April 22/Plano, Tex./UPI -- U.S. snack food maker Frito-Lay Inc. has announced plans to increase the weight in its packages.
The company had engaged in what are known as "weight outs," reducing the amount of food in packages as a de facto price increase, The Dallas Morning News reported. Now, Frito-Lay says it has raised the weight of packages of Doritos, Tostitos and Cheetos by 20%.
