August 11/The Western Mail -- Alcohol is chiefly to blame for an "alarming" rise in the rate of oral cancers among those in their 40s, it was claimed.
Experts said the number of 40-somethings developing such cancers had increased by a quarter in the past decade. Smoking and alcohol are the two main risk factors.
