September 27/Washington, D.C./Press Release -- Few Americans can report how much sodium they should consume each day, and most are not concerned with their personal sodium intake. According to the “2011 International Food Information Council Sodium Survey,” 59% of Americans say they anot concerned about their sodium intake, consistent with findings in 2009.
Some 70% of Americans say they do not know how much sodium they should get in a day. The numbers are similar for people with high blood pressure, with 56% not knowing how much or overestimating how much sodium they should consume in a day.
