August 14/Vancouver, B.C./Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research -- Long-term coffee consumption may protect against dementia in the elderly, according to an Italian study presented at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference 2012.
In the prospective population-based cohort study of adults aged 80 years or older, about three-fourths drank coffee, having started on average at the age of 19 years.
