Tyson’s school foodservice line includes whole-grain breaded foods, as well as products with reduced sodium and fat.
Tyson Food Service knows school foodservice operators also need to pass tests from time to time. That’s why Tyson developed 11 new, whole-grain breaded chicken products that meet new federal nutrition standards for the National School Lunch Program. Tyson says it employs a nutrition team with registered dietitians, as well a “Kid Tested, Kid Approved” insights program to develop student-endorsed foods. New items include chicken patties, sticks, tenders and chunks, as well as popcorn chicken. Tyson says its school foodservice line includes whole-grain breaded foods, as well as products with reduced sodium and fat. In fact, 96% of Tyson products for the school lunch program already meet the USDA’s initial requirements of the new standards.
