Synergy Flavors opened its remodeled, expanded 145,000-sq-ft flavor development and manufacturing center in Wauconda, Ill., outside Chicago. Among those present to see the LEED-certified site were executives from Synergy’s parent, Ireland’s Carbery Group. The Innovation Center houses ideation; flavor and application development; sensory and analytical labs; a demonstration kitchen; and pilot plant facilities to support customer product development. “The new open concept is much more conducive for collaboration between our flavorists and application specialists,” says Paulette Lanzoff, technical director. “The space fosters creativity and provides the team a more progressive environment to communicate daily on projects and, importantly, to interact with customers.”
