The UK has begun to regulate the market for orally consumed legal cannabis extracts, following the release of the Food Standards Agency’s public list of cannabidiol (CBD) products permitted for sale to consumers. 

The Elixinol and British Cannabis agreement enables Elixinol’s brand to continue to be distributed in the UK, while handing over the UK operations and associated cost.

The Association for the Cannabinoid Industry and Centre for Medicinal Cannabis estimate the UK’s consumer cannabidiol (CBD) market will generate £690 million ($976 million) in annual sales in 2021.
