John S. Phillips has been with PepsiCo for over 36 years, working in several different sales and field operations roles since joining the company as a route salesperson with Frito-Lay. Before his current role, John was VP of Customer Delivery Systems for Frito-Lay. He led the development of new DSD delivery systems, the creation of the B2B ecommerce platform “Snacks To You,” and the next generation of frontline DSD handheld computers. John is currently responsible for working with PepsiCo’s largest customers on supply chain and collaboration initiatives to drive effectiveness and efficiency across the shared supply chain. He also leads PepsiCo’s SMART Packaging initiative.
John is a member of the Consumer Brands Association (CBA) Smart Label Committee, and The Global Consumer Goods Forum (CGF) E2E Value Chain and Product Data Committees. He is on the Consumer Goods Technology (CGT) Executive Council, the Global GS1 Data Excellence Board, and the GS1 US Board. He is also a WMU Food & CPG Marketing Advisory Board member. John is recognized as an industry expert on CPG and retail supply chains, online grocery, and digital technologies. He regularly keynotes at global industry events and has won the Supply Chain Digest Best Presentation of the Year award. John was also recently recognized by the Council of Supply Chain Management (CSCMP) as “the Leonardo da Vinci of supply chain.”
Before joining PepsiCo, he spent ten years in retail store operations with Jewel Food Stores and was a territory sales representative for Procter & Gamble. John also holds an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
