AAK Names VP of Chocolate and Confectionery Fats

August 23/Stockholm, Sweden/Business Wire -- AAK announced the appointment of Torben Friis Lange as new vice president for the Chocolate & Confectionery Fats business.

Lange comes from a position as group managing director for Pfizer (Wyeth) Nutrition Asia Pacific Operations located in Singapore. Prior to this, he worked for Arla Foods for 17 years in different leading international managerial positions in Denmark, the U.S. and China. He holds a degree in dairy technology and in business administration.

"I am very pleased that we have succeeded in finding the right person for this very important job. Both AAK's Board and I are convinced that Torben Friis Lange is an excellent choice for this position. Torben comes with a very good track record and will -- with a lot of very relevant experience -- lead the way in creating more value for our customers and our company", says Arne Frank, CEO and president of AAK.

"I am looking very much forward to taking on the position as manager and leader for a large, global and important business area at AAK," says Lange. "I believe the vegetable oils and fats industry contains many interesting opportunities both within the health/nutritional area and the cocoa butter replacement area. I also know AAK as a very exciting company with many opportunities to capture more growth".

Lange will assume the position in early November 2010 and will be based in Aarhus, Denmark.
