Carbonated Drinks and Kidney Troubles

February 11/Chicago/The Mirror (London) -- Women who drink two or more fizzy drinks a day are nearly twice as likely to develop kidney disease, according to scientists.

However, there was no greater risk for men or for anyone who drank diet soft drinks.

The study of 9,400 adults found women were 1.86 times more likely to have high albumin levels, a sign of early kidney damage.
