Hitting the Shelves: Pudding for One -- August 2008



Kraft Foods has focused on convenience with the launch of single-serve sachets of its popular pudding mix. The product is featured in a box containing six individual sachets to be poured in half a cup of cold milk, mixed thoroughly and left to stand until it thickens, being ready in minutes.

The pudding mix comes in four varieties: chocolate, vanilla, sugar-free chocolate and sugar-free vanilla. The sugar-free chocolate version is said to contain only 80 calories per serving, tapping into the popular portion-control trend, as well. Perfect for dieters and calorie-conscious consumers, it combines convenience with health. Consumers are rediscovering making meals from scratch, wanting to have a hand in the food that they eat, but time is a frequent obstacle to these good intentions. Simple, quick-to-prepare dessert mixes are the perfect solution, as they allow for a certain degree of manual handling.
