April 9/Biotech Sweden -- Newly established British company Evgen has signed a contract with Danish researcher Barbara Ann Halkier regarding a broccoli extract. Halkier's studies show that an extract from broccoli can fight certain forms of cancer. Halkier's efforts to develop the extract so that it can be used as a ingredient in food products and even as a food supplement are expected to take about three years.

Evgen has won exclusive global rights to market Halkier's broccoli extract.
