On the Street -- Cargill’s New Fiber
Cargill is rolling out a new fiber product made from whole-grain barley that can be added to foods and beverages, without incorporating unpleasant texture. A pear-merlot juice blend from Bolthouse Farms will become the first consumer product containing Cargill’s Barliv barley betafiber. Other Barliv products likely to come out soon include waters, snacks, cereals and bakery goods. Cargill, www.cargill.com
