Cheese and Cereal Patent

March 21/Geneva, Switzerland/U.S. Fed News -- The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has assigned a patent to Fromageries Bel for a "Method for Producing a Cheese Product Containing Milk Solids Lower Than or Equal to 50% and Comprising at Least One Cereal," an invention of Christophe Cheneval-Pallud.

According to the abstract posted by the WIPO, "The invention relates to a method for producing a cheese product containing milk solids of 50% and consisting of a mixture of melted cheese and at least one cereal, and to a cheese product that can be produced by said method. Said cheese product is characterized by a long shelflife, i.e. a shelflife that can be up to 4 months at room temperature."

The patent was filed on Sept. 9, 2010, under Application No. PCT/FR2010/051881.
