Industrial seasonings and coatings supplier Newly Weds Foods Inc., Chicago, has purchased Continental Seasoning Inc., a competitor in Teaneck, N.J., for an undisclosed sum. Officials say Continental’s business includes seasoning blends, spices, and ingredient processing aids for servicing meat, poultry, meat snack and seafood processors.
“Continental Seasoning has been a strong regional competitor and built a solid base of loyal customers over their 50 year history,” says Newly Weds Foods President, Charles T. Angell. “Their customers have come to expect quality ingredients and a high level of support. Newly Weds Foods is very similar in how it has grown customer relationships.
“We look forward to servicing Continental Seasoning’s customers and their needs in a seamless and like fashion through the transition and long term,” he adds. “Along with effective organic sales-building activity, acquisitions like this are an important aspect of Newly Weds Foods’ aggressive growth strategy.”
No operational changes are expected during the transition period and the company will conduct business as Continental Seasoning, a Newly Weds Foods company, during that time.
