PepsiCo is to release a carbonated version of its Tropicana fruit drink, containing 1% fruit juice. The drinks will come in four flavors -- orange, grape, strawberry and diet orange -- and are expected to come to market in April.

The drinks will be marketed under the Tropicana Twister name and hope to cash in on the craze for healthier products in the U.S. market.

Some analysts have questioned whether Tropicana Twister will be confused with sugary carbonated soft drinks such as Fanta and therefore tarnish its healthier image. Despite this, the company is confident it can enhance the Tropicana brand, which it acquired in 1998.
