February 17/Anaheim, Cal./M&A Navigator -- U.S. frozen foods producer Windsor Foods completed the acquisition of California-based Discovery Foods from private equity firm Friedman Fleischer & Lowe.

Financial details were not disclosed.

According to the buyer, this strategic acquisition will help it build up its presence in the Asian frozen food market, along with its leading position in the Italian and Mexican frozen food segments.

The deal is also complementary in terms of products and customer relationships and adds an experienced management team, Windsor Foods added.

Discovery Foods produces frozen Asian snacks, appetizers and entrees.
