August 16/London/Financial Times-- Steve Easterbrook will step down as president of McDonald’s Europe at the end of September to join Gondola Group as chief executive of its PizzaExpress restaurant chain.

Easterbook, an 18-year veteran of McDonald’s, took over the company’s European operations last December. He commented, “In this time, we have made many changes to our business that are clearly appreciated by our customers and staff.”

Doug Goare, who runs supply chain and real estate development at McDonald’s, will take over for Easterbrook in October. Goare has worked at the company for 33 years and will be replaced by Jose Armario, who leads its Canada and Latin America operations.
