Healthy Nation, LLC launched a Kickstarter campaign for Vegy Vida, a new line of all natural dipping sauces that will make it easier for moms and dads to get their kids to eat their veggies. Vegy Vida is a 100% natural, low-fat, low-calorie sauce that combines a patent-pending bitter-blocking formula with natural flavors to make vegetables taste like kids favorite foods, including macaroni and cheese, pepperoni pizza, garlic bread, taco, ranch, and bacon. The company is using crowdfunding to raise funds for nationwide distribution of its products. The campaign goal is $50,000 and supporters can back the project at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/514182986/vegy-vida-liven-up-veggies.

Creating Healthier Eaters at Early Age

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, children age 2-8 years of age should eat between one and 1.5 cups of vegetables a day. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimates 93 percent of children do not eat enough veggies. Vegy Vida is focused on reversing the trend with sauces that kids can dip, spread or squeeze on their vegetables. The sauces come in six delicious flavors and contain a bitter-blocking formula, along with a small amount of olive oil, to assist in the body's absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, which naturally occur in vegetables.

Liven Up Veggies

"We uncovered the science behind why kids don't like to eat their vegetables," said Heather Young, a food scientist and creator of Vegy Vida. "Kids have approximately three times the amount of taste buds as adults do, which makes bitter foods such as vegetables, taste much more bitter to a child than to an adult. Our bitter-blocking formulation reduces the bitterness so all you taste is deliciousness! Our sauces liven up veggies, and literally change the dining experience by making them taste great in a healthy and natural way."
