On the Street: Hires and Promotions at FONA

June 21/Geneva, IL/Company Press Reelase - FONA International Inc., a developer and manufacturer of a full line of flavors for the food and beverage industries, announced the hiring of new team members and two promotions.  

New Hires
Sandra Balco will be business unit director - beverage. Joining FONA with 25 years of experience in the food ingredients and flavor business, she will lead its beverage business unit, working closely with dry and liquid beverage team members. Sandra holds a M.B.A from DePaul University and a M.S. in food science from the University of Illinois.  

John Martin, new director of regulatory affairs, adds more than 20 years experience in the flavor industry and regulatory to FONA. With his extensive regulatory background, Martin is expected to play an active role in Tax and Trade Bureau formulations and filings, while also acting as an expert advisor in international/export tariff issues, neutraceutical/pharmaceutical flavors acceptability research and serving as FONA's primary contact to industry associations including FEMA. J

The new market manager for performance nutrition, Amy Lauer joins FONA with many years of experience as global and B2B marketing manager with an international food packaging company. She will lead FONA's strategic marketing, planning and implementation for market projects to support our performance nutrition customers.

Sharon Van Horn has joined FONA as senior applications technologist - grain, while Julie Lubben and Jody Vavaroutsos will serve as customer service representatives, and Harmony Barry is added as sales support associate - beverage.

Promotions
Jacque Finner is now senior lab technician - grain, in charge of compounding support for the company's grain business unit, and Conor Delaney has been named senior lab technician - confections.
