Kangaroo Brands, Inc., ("Kangaroo") named Salem Kashou as its second-generation president. Started by brothers John and George Kashou in 1979, Kangaroo has grown to be a leading manufacturer of specialty breads and ready-to-eat, handheld sandwiches.

Salem Kashou succeeds former president and co-owner John Kashou who retired in 2015. Beginning his career with Kangaroo in 1999, Salem worked across all departments of the organization, most recently in operations. In the past year, as Chief Operations Officer, Salem oversaw the doubling of staff and expansion of production capacity.

"Our Sandwich Bros. brand continues to enjoy explosive, double-digit growth," said Salem. "It required us to reorganize every department, while focusing on employee welfare, continuous training and customizing information technology for better transparency and insights."

"Over the past 37 years, we have built and nurtured our family business," said George Kashou co-owner of Kangaroo. "We couldn't be more excited to pass the reigns to Salem and watch it grow to the next level. Salem has the experience and passion to supercharge our growth while enabling the company to continue providing really tasty, quality food to consumers."

"Having grown-up with the company, it's my honor and duty to keep Kangaroo as a spunky, family-owned business that strives for consistent quality and customer satisfaction," said Salem. "I am genuinely grateful for the great team at Kangaroo and it wouldn't be anything it is today without each and every one of our associates."
