We just wrapped up the peak holiday season with parties and celebrations, and we know all too well the demands that go along with that time of year. Consumers want solutions that make life simpler and easier.

Inline Plastics is answering that call and doing so in a sustainable fashion. The company now offers seven new rectangular products in its Essentials Platters line. These all-clear, rectangle-shaped platters are also made with 10% post-consumer content.

“We wanted to offer a packaging solution for any event—from birthday parties to holiday gatherings to neighborhood cookouts,” explained Tom Orkisz, Inline Plastics Chairman and CEO. “Just like our current round platter portfolio, these rectangular platters come in a wide range of options and provide exceptional clarity enabling the contents to take center stage. Consumers can go from the store directly to the party table.”

In addition to the convenience and appeal of an attractive, ready-to-serve package, the company’s commitment to sustainability initiatives carries through to these new products as well. With the acquisition of a manufacturing plant in Gladwin, Mich., Inline Plastics will produce all-clear platters that do not have a black base.

“We try to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to environmental sustainability. Many brands still offer black packaging, however we at Inline switched to all clear products aiming to help the sorting and recycling process which struggle with black,” said Orkisz. “With it, the entire Inline Plastics Essentials Platters line is recyclable, where recycling of plastic food containers is available, and an environmentally friendly choice for events and occasions where people gather to celebrate.”

The elimination of carbon black materials eases sorting and processing during recycling. The platters will be made with the company’s proprietary reborn rDPET™ high performing food-grade, post-consumer recycled content material.

Essentials Platters are available in four to seven compartments ranging from 40oz to 142oz capacities. With minimal ribbing for enhanced product visibility and sturdy design, Inline Plastics instills confidence with consumers that the food they buy in these platters is fresh and secure. For retailers, there are options designed for multilevel stacking, as well as reversible merchandising that provides a large, optimal food viewing window.
