One of the steps to help prevent or reduce the risk of breast cancer is to reduce stress and to eat a healthier diet; however, olive oil may be able to help as well.

A team led by Dr. Javier Menendez at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Research Institute found that olive oil promotes cell death of some breast cancer genes. The study suggested that, with more research, olive oil could be useful in the design of dietary counseling.
