JTM Food Group, Harrison, Ohio, says its new Premium Beef Stew bridges the gap in nutritional comfort food. Made with tender chunks of premium beef, potatoes, carrots and onions in a rich, beef sauce, Premium Beef Stew is a reduced-fat, reduced-sodium product. It comes in a boilable/steamable bag to reduce prep time. “Based on a specific healthcare customer’s request, we were asked to make a product that could compare with a home-made beef stew that had tender, melt-in-your-mouth beef,” says Tracy Boggs, RD, JTM’s director of National Healthcare Sales. “We have not only met that challenge, but surpassed it by creating a product good enough to be served in any restaurant.” Premium Beef Stew is part of JTM’s Better Steps line, which features more than 100 gluten-free products along with a variety of reduced-fat and -sodium items. Each 6oz serving of Premium Beef Stew contains 116 calories, 2.3g of fat and 496g of sodium.
