Inko's Produces Organic Tea

New strawberry-flavored tea is USDA certified organic and non-GMO

March 27, 2015

Tea has started another revolution, this time in grocery aisles and refrigerators across the country. As health-conscious Americans’ preference for healthier beverages continues to rise, they are looking for tasty, low-calorie hydration options with enhanced health benefits. Helping to quench this thirst, Inko’s, the premiere brewer of white tea, has gone organic and non-GMO.

InkosOrganicTea225

Inko’s started producing its new, non-GMO, USDA certified organic formula. Organic extends across their full product line including two new flavors – Honey Lemon and Strawberry. Inko’s Strawberry Organic White Tea is a strawberry-flavored ice tea on the market and was created in response to consumer demand. In fact, according to recent Inko’s research, strawberry was the number one most requested flavor.

“We’re super excited to launch our new Inko’s Organic White Tea formulas in time for spring and summer tea season,” said Andy Horrow, chief marketing officer, Wholesome Tea, maker of Inko’s. “Converting to a non-GMO and organic formula furthers our commitment to delivering white tea that’s 'Just a Little Better For You.'”

Unlike most teas that are brewed from common, more-processed black and green tea, Inko’s is only brewed from very rare, handpicked white tea leaves such as Silver Needle. Inko’s subtle, smooth and delicate taste and revitalizing touch also comes from its use of only antioxidant-rich white tea leaves. What’s more, Inko’s tea has only 12 grams of sugar and 50 calories (0 grams of sugar and 0 calories for the unsweetened varieties), which is significantly less than most other organic and ready-to-drink teas on the market, making it a healthy alternative.

A Brewing Trend: It’s Tea’s Time

Nearly two-thirds of Americans say they avoid soda in their diet, while more than half say they avoid sugar, according to a recent Gallup poll. As a result, ready-to-drink teas have become the go-to drink of choice as is evidenced by the category’s rapid growth (12.6%), one of the fastest growing sectors in the beverage aisle.

“Ready-to-drink tea has strong growth, but organic products, specifically tea, continue to outpace the category, up 22%,” added Horrow. "Look around store shelves -- consumers are embracing good-for-you products more than ever and retailers are keeping up, adding more to the organic aisles and integrating more organic products into conventional store shelves. Organic is no longer niche!”

White is the New Green

When it comes to tea varieties, white is the new green. It’s no secret that green and black teas are great for you but white tea takes it to a whole new level. White tea, grown only in a few pristine regions of the world, is the least processed tea, which means it contains more naturally occurring, health-boosting antioxidants than teas brewed from other varieties. It’s a health powerhouse according to researchers3. In addition to inhibiting the growth of cancer cells and offering significant benefits for your heart, white tea is known to boost metabolism and aid in weight loss, lower both blood pressure and cholesterol, keep your bones strong and keep your skin healthy, even slowing down the aging process which can have immense effects on skin health.

Inko’s Organic White Tea is leading the white tea revolution with 10 delicious, smooth-tasting flavors to satisfy thirst for a better beverage. Flavors include three unsweetened varieties - honeysuckle, hint ‘o mint, original – as well as blueberry, apricot, white peach, honeydew, original and the new strawberry and honey-lemon.
