Campbell Soup Company announced the appointment of Nancy A. Reardon as senior vice president-chief Human Resources and communications officer, a newly created position. She will report to president and chief executive officer Douglas R. Conant and will oversee the company's global human resources and communications functions. Reardon's appointment is effective August 2.

Reardon served most recently as executive vice president of Human Resources at Comcast Cable Communications Inc., where she played a leadership role during the integration of AT&T Broadband. Reardon has 25 years of human resources experience, including leadership positions at consumer products companies such as Borden Capital Management Partners and Duracell International Inc., as well as American Express Travel Related Services, Avon Products Inc., and General Electric, where she began her career. She also has 10 years of corporate affairs experience.

"Nancy's extensive experience and strong business orientation will be an asset to our organization as we move forward with our plans for driving quality growth," Conant said. "I am delighted that she will be joining our team."

Reardon said, "Campbell has excellent brand assets, a strong team and a clear commitment to making the company a more competitive force in the food industry. I am looking forward to working with Doug Conant and his leadership team to drive Campbell's marketplace and workplace agendas."

Reardon earned a bachelor's degree in psychology from Union College and a master's degree in social psychology from Syracuse University.
