A California woman has sued McDonald's in a federal court in San Francisco, claiming that the fast-food chain has not reduced the trans fatty acids in cooking oils used for french fries and other foods, according to the Associated Press.

The suit alleges that the company has not disclosed “in an effective manner that it had not switched to a new, healthier cooking oil.” In February 2003, the company said that its plan to change all the cooking oils, particularly for fries, was taking longer than expected because customers were complaining about products' taste. McDonald's has cut TFAs in its McNuggets and other chicken products.
