Certification for Sensient in Brazil

August 29/Rio de Janeiro/Press Release -- Sensient Technologies Brazil, a business unit of Sensient Colors LLC, recently achieved FSSC 22000:2010 (Food Safety System Certification) and ISO 22000:2005 (Food Safety Management Systems Requirements). This level of certification represents the highest level of certification within the FSSC Program, designating a comprehensive mastery of safety and quality management systems development. Sensient is one of a select few food ingredient suppliers and the only food color manufacturer in Brazil to achieve this level of certification. Sensient has received third-party certification for risk management plans, manufacturing, and distribution, as well as application of comprehensive and stringent assessment, screening, and analytical testing programs for all raw materials and finished products.

Sensient routinely excels in third-party audits and has a superior record with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the U.S. and with ANVISA in Brazil. "Sensient is working to be the global leader in establishing industry quality and safety standards for natural colors where none exist," says Mark Goldschmidt, director of Global Quality Control and Product Safety. "At Sensient, we continue to invest in capital and actively participate in industry forums and associations to protect the integrity of natural colors and their raw materials."

Sensient offers customers brand protection through high-performing custom color solutions. These custom color solutions are made with raw materials that originate from strictly qualified global sources and are manufactured under the highest levels of safety and quality management standards, including traceability processes.
