KeVita Inc., Oxnard, Calif., says new KeVita Cleansing Probiotic Tonics offer restorative benefits and feature significant doses of functional ingredients known to promote cleansing: kale, red beet, turmeric, ginger and cinnamon. Each bottle also includes KeVita's signature blend of four probiotic strains (4 billion CFUs) and 100% of the recommended daily intake of vitamin C.
"Tonics have long been used as agents to restore energy and good health," says KeVita CEO and Co-Founder Bill Moses. "We've taken the ancient tonic principles and applied modern expertise and great flavors. This Tonics line offers cleansing function in a bottle that consumers can enjoy and savor."
The KeVita Cleansing Probiotic Tonic line debuts with four initial flavors: Kale Lemon, Red Beet, Turmeric Ginger and Cinnamon. The line joins KeVita's original Sparkling Probiotic Drink line, as well as another new line of KeVita Master Brew Kombuchas. All KeVita beverages are low calorie, USDA organic, gluten-free, non-GMO Project Verified and vegan.
Officials say the foundation of KeVita's Cleansing Probiotic Tonic line is a high dose of apple cider vinegar (30g).
"Fermented and vinegar-based drinks are on the rise, so we wanted to provide consumers with a bold, powerful taste that is highly functional but distinctly different from the light and refreshing taste of KeVita's Sparkling Probiotic Drinks,” says Moses.
Bill Lange is KeVita’s vice president of marketing.
"More and more consumers are practicing self-managed wellness by eating and drinking their way to a better state of health," he says. "We are thrilled people are becoming more savvy about brand attributes and ingredients. KeVita Cleansing Probiotic Tonics were developed to meet the most discerning standards of both function and taste."
KeVita says it launched the new tonics through an exclusive partnership with Whole Foods Market in more than 300 Whole Foods Market stores.
"Our shoppers have long looked to Whole Foods Market as the go-to source for the latest, highest quality products that support health and wellness, and that's in large part thanks to brands like KeVita," says Matt Jimenez, global grocery buyer for Whole Foods Market and internal point person for the development and launch of the Tonics line. "They are a true innovator and leader in the industry and we're excited to offer their new line of Cleansing Probiotic Tonics exclusively in our stores."
