People all over the world crave and consume chocolate in different ways, but new recipes from the Almond Board of California show that some trends span multiple regions. Four out of five global consumers say chocolate is either their number one favorite snack or one of their favorites, and almonds have been the number one ingredient in global consumers’ ideal chocolate products since 2008.1

In this new chocolate infographic, chocolate and almond recipe concepts from chefs in Europe, Asia and North America showcase global chocolate trends.

Consumer demand for products offering both indulgence and health, unexpected ingredient pairings, and an emphasis on textures influenced recipes like a luxurious Aztec Almond Hot Chocolate, Almond Candied Orange & Coconut Mendiant, Almond Goji Berry Chocolate Bonbons and Almond Coriander Praline Truffles.

Confectionery is the top category for global new almond product introductions, with 24% of new almond introductions.1

Global research illuminates almonds’ appeal within the category:

•    “Creamy” is the #1 texture claim among almond confectionery products, followed by “crunchy.”2

•    Confectionery is the biggest category for almond introductions in Europe and the Middle East & Africa.2
