The Cannabist Company entered into an agreement with MINT Cannabis and Shango, as joint venture partners, to acquire all 14 Cannabist dispensaries in Florida and the company’s cultivation and manufacturing facilities in Alachua and Arcadia.

The state adopted medical cannabis in 2016, with sales beginning in early 2019. Voters approved adult-use cannabis last November after an effort spearheaded by The Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol got the initiative on the ballot.

The Cannabist Company Holdings Inc. is leaving Florida’s cannabis market – among other initiatives – to improve profitability, enhance its margin profile and enable cash flow generation.

The parties have agreed upon an amicable separation that will allow each to continue growing in the ever-changing Ohio market, as adult-use is on the horizon.
