September 7/Los Angeles/Los Angeles Times-- Campbell Soup Co. is adding asterisks and something like footnotes to a reformulated line of its Select Harvest soups in an attempt to make the growing number of careful label readers more comfortable.
Campbell says the 44 new soups have no monosodium glutamate (MSG), artificial flavors or high-fructose corn syrup; they do have lower sodium content and fewer ingredients with those "scary-sounding" names.
