Hain Celestial Takes Two in Europe

February 4/Dallas, Texas/M&A Navigator -- The Hain Celestial Group acquired French certified organic food products maker Danival SAS and Norwegian natural high-fiber crackers producer GG UniqueFiber AS.

No financial details were given.

The deals are expected to have no impact on Hain Celestial's earnings in the 2011 fiscal year and to boost the results in the next fiscal period.

"The acquisition of Danival will strengthen the organic food line of the Lima brand in Europe," Hain Celestial's CEO Irwin Simon said in a statement. The company, owned by Viva Sante Group so far, distributes above 200 organic sweet and salted grocery, fruits, vegetables and delicatessen products. Danival made $20 million in sales last year.

GG UniqueFiber will "strategically fit into the existing whole grain and high-fiber products business of Hain Celestial." The company generated sales of some $2 million for 2010.
