Mangia Gets GMO-free Certification
Mangia Inc. announced that its brands are now Non-GMO Project Verified.
Participating in the Non-GMO Projects' Product Verification Program was a natural fit for Mangia Inc., whose mission is to provide customers with clean, quality, artisan ingredients from the southern region of Italy, including Campania. Mangia Inc. has developed and maintains strong relationships with its Italian co-packers and suppliers to insure the quality and consistency of its supply chain, including the sourcing of non-GMO ingredients. There are no added preservatives like salt, sugars, calcium chloride, citric acid or EDTA to alter its products' fresh flavor profile.
There are already significant GMO restrictions and bans in nearly 65 countries around the world, including all of the countries in the European Union. And now 37 U.S. states are looking at mandatory labeling. Mangia Inc. president and CEO Matt Maslowski states, "Shoppers are savvier when it comes to reading food labels and demanding non-GMO options. This information should be available on labels for consumers to make informed purchasing decisions. They're already doing this type of labeling in Europe. We're very excited to be at the forefront of the Non-GMO Project's labeling initiative in the United States."
