Grainful, a company that helped bring steel cut oats to the dinner table, is expanding on the success of its Steel Cut Meals line of savory frozen entrées with three new varieties. Grainful debuted Tuscan Bean & Kale, Thai Curry and Cheddar Broccoli SKUs at the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Convention in Dallas.

The mouthwatering entrées are made with 100% whole grain steel cut oats, perfect for health-conscious consumers who realize that there is more than one time of day to get their nutritious oatmeal fix. Steel Cut Meals are made with certified gluten-free, non-GMO ingredients, and are the perfect option for those in search of a convenient, great-tasting, wholesome dinner:

  • Tuscan Bean & Kale: Garbanzo beans, chopped kale and tomatoes and garlic make this entrée smell like you’re sitting in an Italian kitchen.
  • Thai Curry: This entrée will get taste buds tingling with the curry spice balanced with crisp veggies.
  • Cheddar Broccoli: This comfort food classic boasts steamy broccoli and creamy cheddar cheese.

“So many times, convenient frozen dinners are packed with preservatives and the same old flavors and taste combinations. Steel Cut Meals provide a delicious entrée with better ingredients,” said Chef Jeannine Sacco, Grainful co-founder and chief recipe developer. “Enjoying Steel Cut Meals is a great way to get a protein-filled meal without sacrificing taste.”

The new Steel Cut Meals join the original varieties like Vegetarian Chili, Porcini Mushroom Chicken and Unstuffed Pepper. All meals are prepared in individual kettle batches, and contain one to two whole grain servings with the Whole Grain Council’s stamp. With an eye on sustainability, Grainful meal trays are also 100 percent recyclable and 90 percent compostable. The new varieties will hit freezer aisles nationwide starting in November at a suggested retail price of $4.99.
