Liberation Labs closes $20 million in seed financing

Liberation Labs is commercializing precision fermentation with a global network of purpose built, international manufacturing facilities that enable the next wave of biotechnology advancements to produce alternative protein at scale.

With the close of the seed round, the company’s focus is turned completely to finalizing the site selection process and the completion Front End Loading level 3 engineering (FEL-3), followed by placing orders for long-lead equipment and building out the operations team. Liberation Labs is projecting commissioning and commercial production of its first facility by the end of 2024.

Wheat gluten consumption expected to surge through 2027

The wheat protein market was projected to be worth $3.4 billion in 2023, with overall wheat protein sales expected to grow at a 5.3% CAGR from 2023 to 2033 and reach $5.7 billion.

Wheat may become more appealing in ruminant diets as commodity prices fluctuate, replacing a part of corn and barley in rations. Wheat contains more protein than other typical feed grains like corn, barley, and oats.

Wheat protein aids in the development of strong muscles, which is one of its key advantages. Wheat protein isolate is an excellent bodybuilding supplement. Wheat protein isolate aids in muscle growth, reduces muscle breakdown, promotes muscle protein synthesis, improves workout strength, and most importantly, regulates appetite.
