Mariona has debuted in the hemp beverage market with a line of alcohol-free, flavor-forward THC wines.
Crafted from natural ingredients, each flavor offers an acidity, complexity and mouthfeel similar to traditional wine but without the hangover. With 10 mg THC per 750 mL bottle, Mariona is low-dose and low-calorie.
With one bottle intended to be consumed in four pours, each serving contains 2.5 mg of THC and 25-45 calories, depending on the flavor. These beverages, which feature domestic hemp delta-9-THC, allow for onset within 15-20 minutes of consumption. Unlike seltzers or other single-serve formats, the bottle is sessionable, resealable and can be enjoyed for four days after opening.
Three initial SKUs have launched through exclusive distribution partnerships and will continue to roll out to additional markets with a retail-first strategy. Initial offerings include:
- Plush (red): A layered journey of earthy fruit backed by woody aromatics. Top notes of plum, black currant and star anise. Essences of red rooibos, coriander and oak.
- Sunny (white): A quenching blend of citrus and verdant herbs. Top notes of Korean pear, grapefruit and green mango. Essences of chinotto, white tea and honeysuckle.
- Vivid (pink): A punch of mouth-tingling acidity and sun-ripened sweetness. Top notes of hibiscus, golden kiwi and lemongrass. Essences of apricot, pink peppercorn and moringa.
"Our vision for Mariona was built on three priorities," said co-founder Susi Kenna. “We wanted to capture the complexity of wine, recreate the sensation of drinking it and make it—"
"Truly delicious!" interjected co-founder and CEO Dov Friedman. "After nearly 100 formula tastings, we think you'll agree that we accomplished all three."
Mariona is available for purchase in more than 50 brick-and-mortar retail, bar and restaurant locations across New Jersey and Tennessee, with additional availability expected over the coming months.
