Cost Reduction in Product Development

Taste is the bottom-line in food product development. However, the bottom-line is also the bottom-line in food product development. How can there be two bottom-lines? I'll tell you: because there is actually only one, and it's the financial bottom-line. It just happens to be true.

You are charged with making great-tasting products that come together within a budget, and that budget keeps shrinking. Do it for less! Do it for less! One day, you each will have to pull off an actual magic trick in order to introduce a new product. It will have to come into this world out of thin air.
