Companies that are either working towards a GFSI certification under the SQF or BRC audit schemes, or organizations who already have an audit scheme implemented will benefit from participation in the workshop.Participants will become more competent in implementing and in the ongoing management of both SQF and BRC systems. They will be able to effectively sort through the tangle of these audit requirements and become more proficient in ensuring their company becomes successfully GFSI certified and then retains certification through future audits.
Implementation of these audit schemes will:
- Upgrade the management of food safety at a company's operations.
- Ensure that customer requirements for certification are met.
- Help prevent consumer complaints
- Ensure compliance with USDA and FDA food safety regulations.
Specific Training Goals
- Provide an understanding of BRC and SQF food safety management systems (FSMS) and relationship to the Global Food Safety Initiative.
- Learn the resources that will be required to develop, implement, and maintain a FSMS.
- Learn industry best practices to document and confirm effectiveness of prerequisite programs and HACCP systems.
- Understand the specific requirements of either the SQF or BRC audit scheme.
