Plant-based seafood offers a dietary choice to those who follow vegetarian and vegan diets, are allergic to fish or shellfish, or want to reduce their consumption of animal products.

BlueNalu, an innovative food company developing a variety of seafood products directly from fish cells, announced the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with two leading seafood providers in Asia — Thai Union, a global seafood producer with branded products sold worldwide and a dedication to sustainability and innovation, headquartered in Thailand, and Mitsubishi Corporation, a globally integrated business enterprise, headquartered in Japan, with a network of around 1,700 group companies across 90 countries.

BlueNalu, Inc., a food technology company developing cell-based seafood products, announced several key strategic developments including a substantial expansion of the company’s operations, the hiring of a chief financial officer, and the enhancement of its R&D, project management, and engineering teams. 

This financing will enable BlueNalu to develop a good manufacturing practices (GMP) pilot production facility in San Diego, expand its world-class team, implement strategic alliances for global operations and distribution, and prepare for its market launch.

The new interactive program currently covers all Chicken of the Sea® shelf-stable tuna products and will soon allow seafood lovers to trace the company’s entire shelf-stable product line.
