Imperial Sugar Company announced that John Reinert has joined the company as vice president of consumer and foodservice sales, filling an open position. Reinert will be responsible for all sales to these market segments, as well as the company's customer service team. He will report to president and CEO Robert A. Peiser.

Reinert most recently served as vice president -- channel teams for Del Monte Foods, where he was responsible for sales into the dollar, drug, convenience, specialty and military channels. He also has had experience serving the mainstream consumer markets with both Del Monte and The Clorox Company. Reinert previously held a variety of sales positions with Johnson and Johnson Consumer Products Group and for ACNielsen. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from East Texas State University.

"I am very pleased that John has become a member of the Imperial team, particularly at this exciting time in our history," said Peiser. "We have made significant changes in the way we sell to the various market segments we serve, including the introduction of several new products to the consumer marketplace and a renewed focus on the foodservice industry. These changes follow well-documented improvements to our financial condition and changes to our culture and internal business processes. John's sales and leadership experience and his proven ability to provide excellent service to a broad array of customers throughout a geographically diverse area will be very valuable to all of our customers and to our continuing efforts to improve our profitability."
