Hitting the Shelves: Honey, Honey -- January 2009
January 1, 2009
Beverages formulated with organic-certified ingredients is a segment showing recent growth, particularly in the U.S. and several European countries. Increased concern over the safety of artificial sweeteners, refined sugar and high-fructose corn syrup has left some health-conscious consumers demanding more natural sweeteners. Several manufacturers have responded by launching items that use natural ingredients for sweetening purposes. Some of the more visible natural sweeteners found in the market today include agave nectar, cane sugar and plant-derived stevia.
In the U.S., Deluxe Honeydrop launched water flavored with organic honey. Most important to the Deluxe Honeydrop drink’s formulation are its organic honey and premium natural juice ingredients. The water is available in four variants: Bee Good with apple, Bee Alive with blood orange, Bee Calm with chamomile and Bee Strong with blueberry.
