SnackWell's Commits To Removing Certain Ingredients from Products

The company is reformulating its products and expanding to offer consumers more better-for-you snacking options

May 13, 2015

SnackWell's announced a commitment to reformulating its products which will now be made without high fructose corn syrup, partially hydrogenated oil, artificial flavors or colors. Recently acquired by Back to Nature Foods Company, L.L.C., a portfolio company of Brynwood Partners VI L.P., SnackWell's is now looking to build on the success of its signature products – the Vanilla Creme Sandwich Cookies and Devil's Food Cookie Cakes – and is reinventing itself by reformulating its products and expanding its product line. As part of the brand revitalization, SnackWell's is also unveiling a new brand logo, tagline and packaging.

The SnackWell's brand is deeply rooted in offering fat-free products and has grown its product lines to offer consumers a wide variety of better-for-you snack options made with healthier ingredients.

In June, SnackWell's will launch two new products, a new Devil's Food Cookie Cake flavor – Chocolate Mint – and 100% Whole Grain Chocolate Chip Cookie Bites, which are school-compliant and made in a peanut-free facility. Earlier this year and inspired by SnackWell's' top-selling Creme Cookie Sandwiches, the brand launched SnackWell's Minis in Vanilla and Chocolate in retailers nationwide.

"Now more than ever, consumers are seeking flavorful products made with healthier ingredients, which is why since we've been under new ownership, we have been working to reinvigorate the SnackWell's brand and what we offer our customers," said Vincent Fantegrossi, Chief Executive Officer, Back to Nature. "SnackWell's was one of the first brands on the market to offer consumers better-for-you snack options and our more than 20 years of experience has shaped who we are today as a brand. We're really excited to now have the opportunity to build on the brand's success with newly-reformulated products and new product offerings for our customers to enjoy."

The new SnackWell's "On the Go" product line offers consumers a portable and convenient way to snack healthy that fits their busy lifestyle. Each portion-control pack of SnackWell's On the Go products are between 100-130 calories per serving. The lineup includes Yogurt Pretzels, Fudge Pretzels, Fudge Drizzled Chocolate Chip Cookies and Fudge Drizzled Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
