Naturex: Natural Nutrition

Naturex uses HiE to showcase three-step approach to health, nutrition

December 1, 2016

Naturex sources, manufactures and markets natural specialty ingredients for the food, beverage and health and cosmetic industries. The company actively supports the global shift to natural by directly addressing key consumer expectations through an offer built on two main focus areas: “My Natural Food” and “My Natural Selfcare.”

Naturex’s portfolio includes colors, antioxidants, specialty fruits and vegetables, phytoactives, and numerous other plant-based natural ingredients. All these ingredients help Naturex customers create healthy, authentic and effective products.

With so many health-conscious consumers, there’s steadily increasing demand for enhanced nutrition. As consumers’ approaches to healthy living become more proactive and holistic, the food and nutraceutical industries must be able to answer the call.

Three-step Approach to Natural Nutrition

Naturex used the recent Health Ingredients Europe (HiE) show in Germany to unveil an innovative approach that speaks to manufacturers and consumers on three levels.

Intuitive Nutrition: Naturex offers botanical, fruit and vegetable ingredients that offer natural nutrient sources, to speak to and reassure consumers.

Fortification: Naturex offers standardized natural ingredients that go beyond consumer intuition to answer quantifiable nutritional needs.

Nutrition with Purpose: Whether there are serious athletes looking to boost performance or busy executives that want to manage their weight, Naturex believes that natural nutrition can be targeted to specific needs.

To illustrate each step of this new Natural Nutrition program, Naturex treated its HiE visitors to several applications. They included an infused birch and cucumber water drink (pictured), an instant drink made from moringa, and a sports drink that can be personalized to the user’s needs.

Start-up Innovation Challenge

At this year’s HiE, Agroparc, (French pole of excellence in Food Intelligence), UBM and Naturex, joined forces to launch a new “Start-Up Innovation Challenge.” This challenge promotes innovative international projects on ingredients and is open to any new company (less than three years old) or start-up with a strong project in the food sector.

Plans called for a judging panel to designate five finalists who would be given the opportunity to “live pitch” during the first day of the show. A “Natural Ingredients” special prize then would be presented by Naturex.

About Naturex

Headquartered in Avignon, France, Naturex has experienced steadily-increasing growth throughout the last 20 years. The group posted €397.8 million in sales in 2015 and employs 1,700 people worldwide.
